Water is a basic necessity, and an important resource for sustaining life. The decline in water quality endangers the health of humans as well as the ecosystem. Clean drinking water, hygiene, and sanitation play an important part in maintaining health.
So, we installed a large scale, sustainable, community-based water purification unit at Bannikuppe, Bangalore and Raviryala Village Hyderabad in partnership with the Gram Panchayat. The water undergoes a seven-step filtration process with reverse osmosis technology and UV rays to deliver potable water to over 14,000 people covering 23 villages.
Health and Hygiene has always been an important focus area for Wonderla. An assessment of the villages near Bangalore branch in 2015-2016 revealed that there was an immediate need for proper sanitation. Wonderla addressed the issue by initiating the Sanitation Project in 2015-16 in six villages of the Bannikuppe Gram Panchayat. 75 individual toilet units have been constructed in collaboration with Panchayath by using PPP Model (Public Private Partnership) under Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan.
Instalation of Borewell
Water is scarce in most parts of India, and piped supply of water is not available in rural India. Women have to travel long distances to carry home a pot full of water. Most of the people in rural areas drink water directly from polluted ponds.
So we installed Bore well for community people at Ward no.01, Kunnathunadu Grama Panchayat. Kochi.
